NORfest on October 8th
Downtown Norfolk, Conn., is about to put on festive attire and celebrate Fall’s arrival with an afternoon of fun. On Sunday, October 8 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the town will be alive with exciting events for visitors of all ages.
Attend Tai Chi Chuan master instructor Christopher Kiely’s class or head over to the Village Green for the Great Pumpkin Hunt. Take a guided walk through Norfolk’s historic downtown, make your own ice cream sundae at the Berkshire Country Store and enter a free drawing for a basket of local goodies. Not enough? See Blue Hill Florists demonstrate the art of flower arranging, listen to the lively accordion music of Paul Ramunni and talk with local artisans as they show off their techniques and wares.
Plan on making food part of the fun. Norfolk has four great restaurants—Wood Creek Bar & Grill, Station Place Café, Infinity Bistro and Berkshire Country Store—so be sure to come early and linger late. You can eat inside or out, buy picnic makings or simply enjoy happy hour. If you picnic, Mountain Spirit has an assortment of cold beers and fine wines to accompany the food.
Best of all, if you hurry you can even join the Scarecrow Contest; email Kathy (email@example.com) right away for details and bring your scarecrow to the Artisans Guild on or before October 6. During NORfest, look at all the scarecrows and vote for your favorite (be sure to stay around to find out who wins). All scarecrows will remain on display until October 31st. See you soon!
