Just over a month until summer and I’m sure that you’re already thinking about working on your summer body! Bathing suits and BBQs are right around the corner. Many of the visitors in NWCT will turn to hiking, kayaking or other outdoor activities to stay in shape, but why not try something new?
W. Rhythm Fitness in Kent is a full service wellness center for body, mind and soul. Classes range in difficulty and are designed to not only increase strength and flexibility but also to energize your life! While you may not typically consider adding a fitness class into your vacation schedule, keep in mind that massage therapy, crystal healing and Reiki are also offered and are the perfect mental getaway for locals, weekenders and vacationing visitors looking to cleanse their stress.
I recently took a Beginner Barre class at W. Rhythm and I will fully admit that I got my butt whooped by Wanessa, Owner and teacher. Her professional teaching style paired with her fun and supportive personality made the hour fly by. All ages participated and the hour was spent doing head to toe work outs including squats, planks, core work and weights. Barre is the newest fitness fad and with the all over body strengthening that I got from a single class, I’m sure the craze is here to stay! Other classes include: Bounce Barre, Cycle Barre, Yoga Barre, Pilates on the Mat, Zumba, TRX and W. Rhythm Total Fitness!

About Wanessa Anderson
Dance and music have always been an immense part of my life. Since a very young age I studied dance in many various forms with a strong emphasis in classical ballet.
Being taught and evaluated by teachers and dance instructors from around the world gave me the opportunity to see dance as a way of life, providing me with a rich and versatile background.
I have been working and refining my dance skills with and through academic credits, classes, workshops and performances.
Through this process I became a fitness instructor and a personal trainer. I learned how to help people to use dance in their lives as an option to be active, strong, and healthy.
I have worked for various local gyms and fitness studios for the past 6 years and that’s how I built my clientele.
In 2015 I was presented with the opportunity to bring to my own community, the town of Kent, CT a great fitness program focused on strengthening of the muscles, improvement of alignment, posture and increase of flexibility. It’s been a honor and a pleasure to own W. Rhythm Fitness and Wellness and to offer the best of the fitness world to this community.
In my classes, students can look forward to a high energy, fun and supportive, non-judgemental environment. Experienced athletes and beginners fitness enthusiasts will find a class that they will truly enjoy and always look forward to come back. I am here to be part of your fitness journey.
The studio has been growing exponentially! As part of my philosophy, HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, FIT BODY AND PEACEFUL MIND I have added a variety of wellness services to the studio’s offerings. Clients are now able to have massages (deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point and myofascial), reiki, intuitive readings and crystal healing sessions in addition to classes, personal training, and Pilates reformer sessions.
